How to be a good raider
01/14/2010 10:40 AM by Xillian.

This isn't something that's necessarily appropriate for the front page however I feel it's highly important.

We've approached a point in our guild where we're wiping lots. We didn't really have this issue with TOTC but to those new to progression, I think it's highly important to point out. We're going to wipe. Lots. No really, bring a helmet.

People will say "oh this game is easy" or "why are people being stupid and standing in X". Fact of the matter is, we're all learning in progression. In my opinion, Plagueworks shows that Blizzard isn't messing around and is quite harder than the first wing of ICC.

So how do we prepare? Bring flasks, have gold for repairs, research at sites like tankspot.com and bosskillers.com. Read up on your class at Elitist Jerks. Learn to not hit your vent button. By that I mean think twice before you open up your mic in vent. If someone asks the raid leader a question, it isn't directed at you. If the raid leader asks for input, that would be a great time to give it. If we're fighting and something isn't being called out that you think would be helpful, PST the raid leader and suggest it. Don't take it upon yourself to call them out. it isn't your job and while your intentions may be in the right place, it clutters vent chatter. Calling something out may be overlooked, or it may not be being said so people learn the fight the correct way.

If you don't want to take it from me, take it from lore...
